My list of podcasts as it appears in iTunes:

Video podcasts:

  • Ted Talks – Each year, the TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) conference hosts some of the world’s most fascinating people: Trusted voices and convention-breaking mavericks, icons and geniuses. These podcasts (also available in audio format) capture the most extraordinary presentations delivered from the TED stage.
  • Diggnation – Diggnation is a weekly tech/web culture show based on the top digg.com social bookmarking news stories.

Audio podcasts:

  • Sharam Jey’s podcast – This podcast features the most recent DJ-mix by famous DJ/producer Sharam Jey
  • Resident Advisor podcast – The weekly podcast from RA / Resident Advisor / www.residentadvisor.net – online dance and electronic music magazine
  • Radio 538: Dance Department – The best beats to go! Check 538dancedepartment.com
  • John Acquaviva presents Electronic – This is an exciting time for underground club music. Once a month you’ll hear the newest amazing releases and unreleased promos from the artists and producers that are changing the face of international clubbing.
  • Ibiza-Voice.com – is all about the Ibiza lifestyle, and much more besides… Ibiza Voice is most popular for its ironical, unbiased and liberated editorial line.

AlertThingy 1.3 is out

23 April, 2008 | Cristi | No Comment

All is in the title. :)

Well not quite all. AlertThingy is now a real Twitter client, all the updates are displayed in a single window and they hide the duplicate Twitter messages that appear from FriendFeed. Also they added simple Flickr upload. Simple but very useful. And you can use TinyURL directly. A really nice touch is that after a photo is uploaded to Flickr the app automatically generates a TinyURL for that image file.

When I fist saw the new version I wasn’t impressed but after playing a bit with it I was hooked.

AlertThingy1.3

So go download the new version here. Or you can update automatically if you have AlertThingy already installed.

Twhirl adds FriendFeed support

Yeap! It’s true, after AlertThingy added support for Twitter, today Twhirl added FriendFeed support. It will be available in version 0.8 but you can test it right now if you download the twhirl 0.7.9 from here.

Loic Le Meur has made a short video demonstrating the new features.

And Mashable! has a great “head to head” comparison between the two applications.

For those addicted to FriendFeed here comes a desktop client: AlertThingy. It’s an Adobe Air app and it has become a must have on my computer. This and twhirl – one of the the best twitter clients out there.

P.S. Abobe also launched a couple of days ago the alpha version of Air for Linux.

Ted.com

After seeing one more time this video, I’ve browsed a bit ted.com and found lots of interesting videos to watch.

So if you wanna see the true face of Leonardo Da Vinci or if you have a Wii and you are bored with it or interested in architecture or just wanna see some funny but very agile people talk just go to ted.com.

M-a surprins putin descoperirea facuta azi. Orange si Vodafone (sucursalele din Romania) folosesc Twitter pentru a anunta noutatile si ofertele speciale.

Twitter Firefox plugin

5 June, 2007 | Cristi | No Comment

Just discovered this great Twitter Firefox plugin.

From the site:

This extension adds a tiny icon on the status bar that notifies you when your friends update their statuses. Also it has a small text input field to update your status.

I’ve fund it via a Mashable post that describes 8 firefox plugins for twitter. Have a look and pick the right for you ;)

Google Gears

31 May, 2007 | Cristi | 2 Comments

Picnik

17 February, 2007 | Cristi | 1 Comment

A very simple and good online photo editor. The easiest and intuitive online photo editor I’ve seen. It’s developed in Flash and, for that, is as fast as an desktop photo editor. It has some simple edit options for the photos with more coming soon. The best part however is that it supports editing photos from you computer, flickr account, from any web address, yahoo and flickr search.

So… what can you do with picnik? You can rotate, crop, resize your pictures. You can also adjust the exposure and colors or sharpen the photo. Also, it provides some special effects you can apply to any image, such as: Black and White, Sepia, Boost, Matte and others.

The application is under development and will add more features soon. You can give it a try here.
